An educational blog about Bitcoin: its philosophy, its protocol, its use.

With the release of the first Bitcoin block in 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto revolutionized the notion of value on the internet.
For the first time, the disintermediated exchange of a digital token became possible, solving many problems, including double spending!
Twelve years later, Bitcoin is still alive… The network and its native token have never been healthier. More than 40,000 peer-to-peer nodes have gradually spread across the planet, and thousands of Bitcoin addresses are created every day.

Bitcoin did not emerge by chance, but as a political response to central banks: “We no longer want to depend on currencies whose governance is beyond our control and whose devaluation makes us poorer”.
For the first time in history, a digital token in limited supply and easily exchangeable came into being!

Although the internet promised to be a tool for individual freedom, states quickly diverted it from that purpose.
Nothing is harder today than freely enjoying the fruits of one’s labor. Every transaction is traced, and the movement of every cent must be justified. Mafias must certainly be fought, but currencies and means of communication must remain neutral tools. Fight crime on the ground and free the exchange of value and information between individuals.
Bitcoin reshuffles the deck by providing you with a censorship-resistant token that is very difficult to seize. A system where the unbanked can open an account in one second, and the wealthy are neither tracked nor censored.
A kind of Swiss bank in your pocket, without the watchful, restrictive banker.

Often described as limited or outdated, Bitcoin has faced competition and challenges from other projects many times. Yet it seems to me that, to date, it has never been matched or disrupted.
It even seems on the verge of finally scaling, thanks to its second-layer network, the Lightning Network…
This evolution is happening out of sight, and together we will discover how it enabled Bitcoin to become legal tender in El Salvador.

The Bitcoin White Paper was written and published by Satoshi Nakamoto to announce the Bitcoin project. The original version of this white paper was written in English, but many translations have since appeared.

I have been passionate about Bitcoin since 2017, and I want to do my part.
I also worked at Binance for 6 months as a Customer Care Specialist, and at Bitstack for 2 years and 8 months in the roles of Customer Care Lead and Project manager Customer Care Automation.
This blog is a small journal summarizing my research, reflections, and inspirations. I focus on the Bitcoin protocol and its second-layer network, the Lightning Network.
My goal is for this site to be collaborative; feel free to suggest corrections and content for publication.
PS : Run your fuckin’ node!
